(Odds courtesy of FanDuel)
Freddy Peralta Over 6.5 Ks (-134)
Freddy Peralta has struck out nearly 30% of right-handed batters this season. However, over the last 30 days, the rate has dropped significantly. He’s only added 21.1% of strikeouts against righties and has allowed a high ISO and wOBA to right-handed batters during that time.
But it looks like he’ll turn things around against the Braves today.
After all, the Braves have only hit a .173 ISO and wOBA of .292 against righties in the last 30 days. More importantly, the projected lineup has added 26.9% of strikeouts against righties. Ultimately, seven batters have a strikeout rate of at least 26%, and all nine batters in the projected lineup have struck out at least 22% of the time against righties in the last month.
With a large amount of targets, let’s bet on Peralta to earn at least seven strikeouts. He’ll have plenty of success today.
Brady Singer Over 5.5 Ks (+112)
Brady Singer has struck out 28.3% of righties over the last month. His strikeout rate isn’t nearly as good against lefties. However, Singer is in line to face at least four righties in the White Sox lineup today.
Chicago’s four righties have struck out 31.1% of the time against righties over the last month. With four rather easy targets, Singer should earn a high rate of strikeouts against a White Sox team that has lost 16 consecutive games.
After all, the White Sox have hit a .092 ISO and wOBA of .201 against righties over the last month. Singer may get through seven innings against the White Sox. If he does that, you’d expect at least six strikeouts.
Elly De La Cruz Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110)
The Reds will face off against Kyle Hendricks of the Cubs. Hendricks’ best years are long gone. He’s allowed a .167 ISO and wOBA of .383 to his last 41 lefties. In addition, Hendricks has allowed 38.7% of line drives with 32.2% of fly balls and just 25.8% of ground balls against those last 41 lefties.
Beyond that, Hendricks has only earned 12.2% of strikeouts against lefties.
That’s ideal for Elly De La Cruz.
He’s hit a .280 ISO and wOBA of .465 against his last 58 righties. But he’s also struck out 31% of the time. With Hendricks not being a high strikeout pitcher, De La Cruz looks even better against Hendricks.
Elly has hit 31.2% of line drives against righties over the last month and has added a 12.5% barrel percentage, with a hard contact rate of nearly 44%.
Let’s give Elly De La Cruz a shot to add at least two total bases.
