CONCACAF published their updated club ranking index this week with most of the top 10 unchanged. Monterrey, one of eight Liga MX clubs to feature in the Top 10, remain at the summit with 1,248 points, just ahead of fierce rivals América.
In May, the confederation announced changes to the classification system – which determines draw seedings for official Concacaf club competitions. The new dynamic rankings are updated immediately after all international club competitions, domestic league, and cup matches. Points are awarded for clubs’ performances in official international and domestic club competitions:
Concacaf Champions LeagueConcacaf Regional Cups (Leagues Cup, Central American Cup, and Caribbean Cup)Domestic first division professional league (Liga MX, MLS… etc)Member Association Cups (which qualify for Concacaf competitions)FIFA Club World Cup
The above competitions are weighted in terms of the ranking points available per match, with international matches awarding more ranking points than domestic first-division league and cup matches..

Rayados’ Leagues Cup campaign helped them to remain top of the pile – victories against Real Salt Lake, Seattle Sounders, Portland, Tigres and LAFC during the tournament has allowed them to remain at the top of the classification. Recent results have helped the Albiazules, but their status as five-time Concacaf Champions Cup winners (2010–11, 2011–12, 2012–13, 2019 and 2021) is another factor which has kept them in top spot for 15 weeks running.
