How much will Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis get paid for their UFC 297 fight?

The highly touted UFC Middleweight title fight at Toronto’s UFC 297 will see Sean Strickland defend his crown against South Africa’s Dricus Du Plessis.

Prior to Strickland’s shocking win over Israel Adesanya in Australia last September, Du Plessis was next in line to challenge the legendary champion. With a perfect 6-0 record, Du Plessis has earned the right to take on the man who beat Adesanya.

Both Strickland and Du Plessis are known for their relentless aggression in the octagon, and this is not likely to be a decision competiton. Expect both to come out firing, leading to an explosive finish.

Somewhat unexpectedly, Strickland comes into this fight an ever-so-slight underdog, but the margins are razor thin. Perhaps in response to the defection of top fighters to boxing for the sole purpose of securing a decent payday, the purses for Strickland and Du Plessis will put these men into the top echelon of sporting prizes.
